While there are hundreds of books on Alsatian breweries, there are no books to date telling the Flemish brewing story. It's done now! On 20 September 2018, the book "Brasseries de Flandre" was published. 

While there are hundreds of books on Alsatian breweries, there are no books to date telling the Flemish brewing story. It’s done now!

On 20 September 2018, the book “Brasseries de Flandre” was published in the Book Marsh in Hazebrouck.

 

This book (the only one to date) tells the history and landscape of breweries in French Flanders. We learn how breweries have experienced growth and decline, at the rate of wars and economic crises.

 

While in 1900 Flanders had more than 220 breweries, there are only one: the Brasserie des 3 Monts!

 

“This book makes it possible to engrave in the marble stories and anecdotes of brewers, not to forget our inheritance. Through this book, I wanted to leave to future generations a trace of what my grandfather Pierre Ricour (founder of 3 MONTS) and his brewing friends had put a life to build. Pierre Marchica, President of Brasserie des 3 Monts, behind this initiative.
